My Birthday almost over

Well it's almost bed time and I'm wrapping up my birthday, it was tons of fun.  I had a great lunch with my Wife, Sushi and Saki! I received from her a $50 gift certificate from the War-store, that I use to purchase some cool female figures for my Inquisitor Army.  I went with the REAPER CHRONOSCOPE Line for the figures, after seeing Sucker Punch I wanted those girls to be part of my retinue. See below:

Rocket
Sweat Pea

I also Purchased a couple of Gears of Wars looking troopers, I also got some Gear 9 tokens for 40K.  I should get them by this weekend.  I also got a new IPOD and a Pre-Purchase of Space Marine for my X-Box 360.  She also purchased for me a GI Joe toy which I asked for so that I can turn it into An Imperial Termite.
An Imperial Termite is a transport choice for Imperial Guard, Witch Hunters, Cult Mechanicus and Space Marine forces. It acts like a drop pod and those are the rules I will use for it. Here are a few shots of the original Epic scale figure and the 40K Scale that Epicast made back in the 1990's.
Here is the smallest underground troop transport, the Termite. Released in the Summer of 1989 with rules in White Dwarf 116. also a Termite on its transport vehicle.

The 40K Termite from Epicast is almost identical to the Epic Emerging Termite. Seats 10 comfortably.

Next is the grand Mole ready to be launched with its cargo of 20 troopers.

I just finished painting mine up while watching Inglourious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino. (It was a hoot!) Here are the pics of the model.

I also watched an interesting movie Dylan Dog: Dead of Night.
So it ends and so begins my 49th year on this globe, I hope it goes well...
-Cheers

Happy Birthday to me!

I'm officially OLD today, just a reminder... I've been playing 40K since the 1980s... yup old.... Have a great day troops and enjoy these funny pictures via the Jarv!

Inquisitorial Guncutter

For my game tomorrow I needed a Storm Raven Gunship, so I took an idea from the book Eisenhorn and built this.
The Guncutter:  From the Eisenhorn Wiki
The most powerful conventional weapon in his arsenal was his gun-cutter, a personal spacecraft capable of atmospheric flight, if not independent Warp-travel. Large enough to contain cabins and crew-quarters for a half-dozen people as well as a sizable cargo deck, the cutter was fast, agile and well-armed with several autocannon turrets.

WIP GEV Kit Bash Tank - Painting, weathering, making a mess...

Well this is the first time I’ve tried different techniques to weather and make this model look realistic, beaten, and used. I consider it a partial success, but I’m not really happy with the salt technique. I started with air brushing some dark brown and green onto the body of the tank and turret, using my airbrush for the first time in 10 years. I then used the hair spray and salt method so I could get a worn and chip paint look.

That part was fine, but getting the salt off was a bitch and I followed some directions to wash the salt off with warm water and a toothbrush, that failed big time! The water removed more paint then I would have liked and I was stuck with a soggy mess. I finally had to brush all of the lose paint off and let the whole thing dry out. There was a bit of good weathering effect left so I decided to dry brush the black areas left with gun metal and touch up some of the spotty area with enamel. Here are the shots, please provide opinions, I think it looks OK… - Cheers

WIP GEV Kit Bash Tank

Hey Gang, I'm working on my kit bash project to get some more tanks for my Inquisitor force I'm writing up for the next Warhammer 40K Meet at the end of the month.  Here are a few shots in the raw:

I'm going to be using this as a Chimera

Based on a US Bradley Model and other Bitz Box odds and ends

I'm hoping to get some more stuff added to the under carriage.

Well I need to do some more work, but I will be posting more pics soon.  -Cheers!

Mech and Tank attack! or I need to kit bash soon!

I'm getting kind of burnt out on Eldar and need to get my creative juices flowing again.  As you know, I love to take old WW2 tanks and equipment and turn them into 40K vehicles.  Like my Neo Brits , the Fifth Reich, and my Neo Soviet Tank the T70.I've been reading up on some Ma.K. sites about painting and building a more realistic MECH army.  This site: Krueger's Krieger has some AMAZING work.  I want to build some Imperial Guard tanks and Chaos walkers, I'm going to bu using these pictures and sites as an inspiration. Of course I will be posting pictures of my work, maybe even a W.I.P./How to.  -Cheers!
