Games at NJCON...

NJCON is in June and I’ve spoken to Mike Lorenzo about running some games. The first is going to be my Left 4 Dead game, a Zombie survival game based on the X-Box 360 game by Value. I’ve been creating bosses using some of my zombie figures, and I’m going to using the rules that Mike perfected at Dexcon and Dreamation, his zombie games are just wonderful. My games are going to be a little different with the use of bosses from the computer game and scenarios I will be writing. The second game we be the weird world war scenarios that Jarrett and I have play tested over the last year or so. I’ve been asked to do some Warhammer 40k games, but I’m still using version 3, so we shall see…

Type: Boomer
Size: 1
Move: 4"
Close Combat: 1D6
Target: 3+
Save: 3+
Kill: 7+
Traits: 2
Boomer's have the ability to vomit on their pray, causing the horde to easily track and attack them.

The vomit stream: has a range of 6", any target getting hit loses all actions, and all Zombies within 10" get a free move action, anyone within 2" of the target is also hit on a +4


Type: Tank
Size: 2
Move: 5"
Close Combat: 2D6
Target: 3+
Save: 2+
Kill: 7+
Traits: 3
The Tank, a huge, muscular Infected that is the most powerful and difficult to kill Throw stuff: A Tank can pick up scenery and throw it at survivors. Range: 6" Damage: D10


Type: Hunter
Size: 1
Move: 5"/10"
Close Combat: 1D6
Target: 3+
Save: 4+
Kill: 7+
Traits: 2
The Hunter, an agile Infected that can pounce on Survivors from a great distance. Pounce: can leap 10" and pin a survivor, will Close Combat until destroyed.


Type: Smoker
Size: 1
Move: 4"
Close Combat: 1D6
Target: 3+
Save: 4+
Kill: 7+
Traits: 2
The Smoker, an Infected that ensnares Survivors with its long tongue at a distance and, upon death, releases a cloud of smoke that obscures vision Tongue Drag: range: D10 inches, when in base to base gets one attack action. Smokey Death: When Smoker dies, place 2" template no LOS for one turn.


Type: Witch
Size: 1
Move: 5"
Close Combat: 3D6
Target: 3+
Save: 4+
Kill: 7+
Traits: 1
The Witch, a passive female Infected, when provoked by loud sounds, lights, gunshots, a Survivor approaching too closely and general stimulation will trigger her to attack her provoker. She is able to knock down the provoker in one hit and will quickly kill them if not killed herself. YOU! The player that comes too close to the witch has to make a unmodified 4+ save or be attacked by the witch. Knock down: When attacked player loses all actions for that turn.

Actions: All Bosses have two actions.

40K 3rd Edition for Zombie Games eh? I had considered using the Necromunda rules myself, but might have to look into this. Of course, I am doing my zombie game in 15mm.
